My Story

07/24/2020

We adopted chacha in January 2011. She brought us years of joy. She was an amazing dog and I do not know if I will ever have a connection like that again. Chance was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June 2017. She was given three months to live and lasted six. When it became to much for her, Chacha left us in January 2018. Attached are some of my favorite pictures with chacha and our family.

Chacha has been with us for a little over a year now but I feel like she has always been a part of our family.  She is just the sweetest, funniest, silliest, cuddliest and most special girl ever.  It took her a couple months to really become comfortable and at home but once she did, her personality came out.  She went from being a shy little thing to being confident, playful and she talks nonstop.  Her nicknames include chacha smash, trouble trouble and pretty girl.  Chacha can be pushy with our 6 year old male boxer but he is laid back and loves her to death.  Poor Scout hasn’t gotten to play with a toy without Chacha trying to steal it but when he does have a toy and she doesn’t come after it he brings it by her, trying to entice her into a game of tug or chase.  It rarely doesn’t work.

Chacha is the best cuddler and I love the mornings I wake up and I have a few minutes to just snooze with her.
Chacha is a funny girl.  She yodels when she talks to you.  She wakes everyone up by delivering a strong paw to the head.  We call them Chacha high fives and everyone who has stayed at our house has gotten one at some point.  Chacha also has a thing against blankets and pushes them all off all the beds in the house.

I could go on and on about Chacha but the bottom line is Chacha was the best fit for our family and we love her to death!  She will have a long and happy life with us.

ChaCha is doing well and has made fast friends with her new Boxer Brother, Scout.  She is quite content and her new family loves her dearly…Another happy ending!  :))

Cha Cha La Cha is doing fantastic!  She is such a special girl.  So gentle, kind and sweet.  We just love her.  She is still a little nervous around loud noises but really warmed up to all our family and friends that have come over.  The boys won and she now spends the night with them all covered up in bed.  She has learned the routines of the house and is mastering sit very well.  Cha Cha and Lina play and box all the time and are very good friends.  Her and Cooper like to lay together on the couch.  Unfortunately, we (the boys and I) have been sick the last week and I really didn’t get off the couch myself over the weekend.  Cha Cha took very good care of me keeping me warm.  She is a very good girl and I’m sure she will be on Santa’s nice list!

ChaCha finally got here on Friday evening. I’ve been waiting for this sweetheart to get here.  She was scared, shy and slobbery but for what she’s been through, she was great.  She is making herself at home here and becoming more relaxed.  She found the toy basket and loves squeaky toys.  She really didn’t want much to do with us the first couple of days but tonight she climbed right up on my lap, oh the joy!!!  She has beautiful eyes and the best forehead wrinkles I’ve ever seen!  She is great in the crate and has been very quiet.  The boys already want her to sleep with them but I’m going to wait a little longer for that.  She is great with the resident dogs and Lina is so glad to have someone to play with!  I’ve had a few good laughs at them already.  I’m sure once she really feels at ease she will be perfect!!
