My Story

06.08.2011

This adorable guy is Archie. He is a low maintenance, happy-go-lucky Boxer boy and has been a pleasure to have in our home.
Although Archie is technically 3 years old, he will celebrate a birthday at the end of June. Archie gets along well with the two resident dogs, a Boxer female and a senior Lab male and has had not a single accident. He is completely house trained, does not chew and stays off of the furniture. He is adjusting to his new surroundings very well. How difficult it must be for these dogs to leave a familiar home and come into foster care where they meet new people, new animals and do it all in a foreign environment. Having said that, Archie has been impressive. Although some nerves were showing the first day or so with lots of panting and some pacing, he is now all settled in. He follows me around a good bit and likes to know where I am- at all times.
This cute Boxer boy went to the vet today and behaved himself nicely with the veterinarian and the other pets in the waiting room. He was curious about the other dogs but approached them in a friendly manner with the wiggly nub- he just wanted to introduce himself! The girls in the office really liked him too and that means a lot to me since they see me bring fosters in about once a month. Archie sat quietly while I clipped his nails and cleaned his ears. He's very easy going all the way around.
Since I'm still learning about Archie, this write-up will be short and sweet. Keep watching for updates because this sweetheart won't be around long. Not only is he too cute but he's just a real gem. He wants to be a good boy and is very generous with the kisses. I can see Archie making a smooth transition from foster care into a permanent home with ease. Maybe he's the one you have been looking for.
