My Story

Zeus is a wonderful addition to our family. He is such a sweet dog and just wants to please. He loves his new bed and always keeps a toy nearby! He is a pleasure to walk. He is such a gentle dog.

We are continuing to have so much fun with Zeus. In typical boxer fashion, he loves to play! He usually has one of his toys near him at all times. Next week we will begin our training, and I'm sure we'll have fun meeting new friends. Zeus has settled into our routine and sometimes remains sleeping upstairs when I go downstairs!

We are so happy to have Zeus as a part of our family! A friend told me that Sophie, my boxer who passed away suddenly, would pick the perfect boxer for us to rescue.....and she did. He really has settled in quickly and has made us laugh at his silly antics!

We love this boy! Zeus is very loving and friendly. He had a vet visit and was happy to meet everyone. He has the typical boxer personality that everyone is there for him! Zeus will need a family with either a fenced yard or who takes daily walks. He has no problem being crated and will even go in there and lay down if you leave the door open. This boy is very smart, if he wants water and the bowl is empty, he will bang on or flip the dish to let you know he wants water. He is a heavy chewer so we only give him kongs to play with and it keeps him entertained for quite a while. If you try to play with him, he will not give you the toy easily. He is not aggressive, he thinks you are taking his toy away so he will run in his crate to keep you from getting it. We are trying to teach him that he will get it back. He can get a little rough when playing but will stop when you tell him to. I think for this reason, he will need older kids in his family. He is fine with meeting other dogs and immediately goes in a play bow position. Zeus will be a great companion for a lucky family.

Zeus arrived from the shelter to our home on Saturday. We are still getting to know him but I can say he is happy and sweet as a dog can be. We were told that he was tested in the cat room at the shelter and he had no reaction. He has met two of our three dogs and did fine with both. He needs to gain a few pounds but that won't be a problem because he loves food and treats. Zeus takes treats so gently, you don't even feel him taking it from your hand. Please look for a more detailed update once we get to know him better.
