My Story

everything is awesome Dallas is my shadow! We did have a biopsy done on his gums 3 months ago and it came back negative thank goodness. We had to have his bottom front teeth pulled they were all broken badly may be from past abuse BUT everything is healthy now! He Luvs boating, our grandson, daily walks and small runs and standing in the water so his chest gets wet picture attached! He is very healthy and still on a grain free diet but I make his treats homemade. We luv him so much and if he could talk I think he would he has changed our lives I don't know what I would do without him! He has Coolio cots for sleeping in both houses, an incredible warm winter coat and a very cool raincoat we luv him so much! Thanks again New Life boxer Rescue for bringing us together we truly believe he wouldn't of survived without us because he is always by our side ??

He is our “son”, He is the LUV of our life (don’t tell our son this ??)!!!  Dallas is so attached to me he never leaves my side, literally lol.  We are so connected its crazy I have never had such a strong connection with any of our dogs like this.  We run or walk every day, snowshoeing is fun he luvs to pull me through the snow looking back at me frequently to make sure I am ok and keeping up with him.  At our house we need to keep him on leash but its a long one so he gets to run quite a bit !  Dallas is quite the “talker” especially if I am not paying full attention to him so I usually stop what I am doing to get on the floor and show the LUV !!  Summer time is especially fun for us with our new boat at our lakehouse he luvs boating with his new lifejacket.  He kinda acts like the King…He will not even go on the dock without his lifejacket.  We bring his water bowl and snacks onboard and off we go he luvs the wind in his face.  He has many dog friends and my sons two dogs and they run together frequently at  Brandons house he has a fenced in yard.  Dallas also luvs the water only up to his chest he has a ruff tough life jacket I will send photo with this email.  We really truly believe a higher power brought us together because we were looking for a rescue for about two years and one night I stumbled  by accident onto NLBR and there he was !  My dad had a boxer for 14 years and he said it was the luv of his life.  So for us to have a boxer would of made my dads life he would of luv’d Dallas.  Bottom line is thankyou for bringing Dallas to us.  He perfectly behaved we have had no problems at all with him he is perfect in our eyes.  He luvs Fish, Chicken and Turkey like you would not believe.  I feed him grain free food and also buy Chicken and Turkey and cook it up and add it to his dry food.  He only eats organic treats and gets brushed every day plus teeth brushing (he has beautiful white teeth) !  On his birthday which we have made his adoption date 12/22 we feed him a dinner of “Bison steak” plus he has this for Christmas day.  So Dallas is spoiled, Luv’d beyond belief and we don’t know what we would do without him!  BTW we are ordering from Chewy.com now great company.

OMG - totally changed our live…We were meant for each other!  The months we spent searching for a family addition, I stumbled upon your site and saw the most loveable Boxer that we fell in luv with before meeting him.  Dallas is our luv - we spend 24/7 together, as my husband and I are retired.  He also visits my mom at a facility, she has Alzheimer’s.  He totally adores older people and his nickname there is "kissing bug"!

Everyone remembers our Dallas, right?  This adorable boy was adopted just after Christmas 2011.  Here he is now looking handsome and happy.  He has his own deck chair and enjoys sitting out there with his new mom.  His adoptive family loves him to pieces and can't imagine life without him.  Lucky guy!

I am so happy to report that Dallas went to his forever home today.  I just received two emails from his new family and they are so excited, happy and overjoyed, I can't even tell you.  They LOVE him to pieces!  What a wonderful Christmas Dallas will have!

My name is Dallas and I am wondering where my new family is.  I have been searching all over these 2 acres but all I seem to find are porcupines and I'm not liking them a whole lot.  All they do is give me trouble and they really know how to hurt a guy.  I am the kind of guy that is very loving and loyal and I do not like to be hurt.  I'm just a lover and not a fighter.  I have been a very good boy and have prayed that Santa will grant me the only Christmas Wish that I have asked for.  I am trying to find a warm and caring family that lets me spend lots of time with them just cuddling.  I love to go for walks and I love to be outdoors.  I still can be afraid of noises if I am not sure of you but I promise if you give me a chance like my foster mom has and take the time to get to know me and me to learn to trust you, I will be the best family member in the house.  I hear FM telling people that she has fallen in love with me and she would like to adopt me for her own.  I appreciate her and love her too but I would love to have my very own family.  It is busy here because there are LOTS, did I say LOTS of dogs.  I do love them though and love to play with them all and I never fight with anyone.  Did I tell you I am a Lover not a Fighter!  I am special and want my own special people.  I am not a barker or a whiner.  I have prayed very hard and I have been such a good boy.  Please help Santa grant my wish.  I will give you the best present you could ever hope for and I will be your loyal friend.

My foster mom says I would make a perfect Theraphy dog.  I love attention but I am not at all pushy.  I will sit quietly by your side and wait patiently for loves.  If you stop loving me I just fall asleep sitting up, when I slowly sink to the floor I sit right back up just in case you forgot you wanted to pat me some more.  I am very loyal to those I love. I love everyone I meet and I am not an aggresive soul at all.  I am quite and do not bark.  I do love to play with all my foster siblings but I let them have their way.  My foster mom loves to kiss my face and I love it when she does.  I am just looking for a nice family that appreciates a well behaved companion.  I do love the outdoors and I am content to just lay out and bask in the sun.  I don't ask for much and am never demanding but I do appreciate those walks in the woods and I love to just hang with my people.  Please come and give me a forever home.  I will never disappoint.

Well I have decided that Dallas should have been named Abe.  He is the sweetest, gentlest, loyal, and true boy I have ever encountered.  He just wants to please and he has so much love in him.  he never stops wagging his tail.  We had a terrible encounter with a porcupine that came to the point of him having to be put under anesthisia.  He had hundreds of them on the roof of his mouth and on his tounge.  It was late at night and he allowed my husband and I to pull hundreds out of his legs feet and between the pads.  We worked on him for two and 1/2 hours.  I could not stand the pain he had to endure.  Any one that knows anything about porcupines know how painful this can be.  As terrible as it was he just kept wagging his tail at us.. He was so gentle and sweet with us.  Some dogs would have taken your arm off, while he was so patient with us he let us know how he trusted us and loved us in spite of the torture we put him through.  Anyone that gets this dog is going to have themselves one heck of a companion.  He is so well behaved and he is very obedient.  He is still  afraid of loud noises but so much better than he was.  He has calmed down so beautifully and gets along with all humans and dogs.  He still wants to chase those cats though.  Please give Dallas a chance.  He deserves the kind of love he is so willing to give. Dallas arrived safely in NH.  He is a fine looking boy with a beautiful shiney red coat.  He needs to put on a little weight but i am sure that won't take long.  He was excellent in the car on the ride and behaved beautifully.  No whining and just slept.  He was introduced to the house dogs, all 5 of them, through the decking fence, he was wagging his tail and very excited.  I think in time we will see that he gets along well with others.  We went for a long walk and he seemed to really love being out in the beautiful fall air and taking in all the smells. He is very happy and full of love and kisses.  He went very willingly in his crate and did not make a peep.  I think he is going to make a very good friend and family member for someone.  I will update as we get to know him better.
