My Story

Cosmo is still Cosmo.  He has been with us for 4 years.  He hasn't had any major medical problems.   He is doing well has daily walks, run and plays in the yard with our 2 year old boxer.  Cosmo continues to make us laugh with his quirkiness.

Has your son /daughter been begging you for a dog? Are you looking for a companion? If so, Cosmo may be what you are looking for. He loves people and would thrive in a house where he has someone to play and bond with. He would be great with older kids that are responsible enough to keep up his training and perhaps let him share the end of the bed. This boy came in to rescue in rough shape. I don?t think he was taught anything or was shown much attention. I have been using a halter and he is learning to walk on a leash without dragging you across the lawn. I have been teaching him that jumping will not get him any attention and put him in a ?sit? before petting him. I was washing the dishes and Cosmo nudged me with his head, I looked down at him and he sat. I dried my hands and petted him, telling him what a good boy he is. I went back to the dishes and he did it again so I dried my hands, petted him and went back to my chore. He did it again and I was like Cosmo, I have to get these dished done! He learned ?easy? means to take treats and not your fingers. He still needs to learn not to counter surf but we are working on it. Cosmo would love a family where he would be your one and only. He lives in my house with 2 dogs but is not comfortable being in the same room with them so we keep them separated with gates. He is fine with that and is not aggressive. You can walk him and if a dog is near, he will not go after them he is just not comfortable with meeting them.
He had a vet visit for a checkup and he was such a good boy. He was friendly with the staff and the vet commented that he is a very nice dog, especially since Cosmo had never met him before and was comfortable letting him cut his nails, look into his ears and take his temperature. He is fine with people visiting and just wants them to pet him and show him attention. Once they do, he goes and lies down. When he arrived his face and coat were dull and infected. With some medicine and good nutrition he is thriving. He has had 2 baths and his coat is becoming soft and his face is clearing up. This boy has all the potential to be an awesome member of the family.

Cosmo is a 2 year old male boxer that has been with us for a week. He is very people friendly and loves to be close to you. Cosmo has very little in the way of training. He is learning to not jump and wait before he goes outside. I am told he is dog friendly but I have not formally introduced him to my crew. He has met them through the gate and all has gone well. He rides great in the car. Cosmo is a little on the thin side but loves his food and treats so gaining weight should be no problem. It also is a great tool in training him. Cosmo is a professional snuggler. He will lay on his back, with his head in your lap, wanting a belly rub or sit on your lap with his head on your shoulder. Cosmo is going to make an excellent family member. He just needs some training and commitment. If you are looking for a sweet, loving companion and have the time for him, please fill out an application. I will update him as I get to know him better.
